I applied for a USDA SESCDP vacancy. They received approximately 1,100 applications. Out of these 1,000 I was one of the 100 selected to move to the next phase. All 100 selected went through a 45-minute structured interview and the panel selected 50 to move to the next phase. I was one of those 50. I learned that at least 10 leaders in my agency also applied for the USDA SESCDP, and only two made it to the final phase – myself and an experienced attorney.
